Music services

The Music Mark Member Directory is a great resource for finding music services.

Music Services are run by your local authority and provide access to instrumental teaching, ensembles, first access programmes (programmes where children learn a musical instrument – usually in a group – for the very first time). They work through schools and through local music centres which they run.

They generally have a stock of instruments you can hire from them, and usually have a good range of CPD on offer for teachers to increase their awareness, confidence and competence in all things music-related. Even if you’re an individual (rather than a school or music centre) Music Services are usually happy to be asked for advice over the phone or by email.

Music Mark is the industry body for music services and carries a database of them on its website, arranged by region.
