Music Education UK

Description

Music Education Hubs are groups of organisations – such as local authorities, schools, other hubs, art organisations, community or voluntary organisations – working together to create joined-up music education provision, respond to local need and fulfil the objectives of the hub as set out in the national plan for Music Education.

Hubs are coordinated by the hub lead organisation, which takes on responsibility for the funding and governance of the hub. The hub lead organisation is usually (but exclusively) the Music Service (see above). Music Hubs are a great way to learn about the other providers, partners, and contributors to music education in your area whom you could approach for help.

Sometimes this includes charities who run community music groups outside school (if learning music in school is a problem, or a child is home educated), or who might fund alternative music sessions in schools.
